ADHD Counselling

Most of the damage from ADHD is not the attention. It is the years of being told you were lazy.

Who this is for

Teens and adults with ADHD, diagnosed or suspected, along with partners and parents trying to understand it.

Signs and experiences you might recognize

  • Starting well and stalling at the same point every time
  • Time working differently for you than for everyone else
  • Emotional intensity that arrives and passes fast
  • Clutter, admin, and unopened mail as a source of shame
  • Hyperfocus on the wrong thing at the wrong moment
  • A long history of underestimating yourself

My approach to this work

Two layers. The practical layer is executive functioning: externalizing structure, breaking tasks down, designing systems that suit your brain rather than fighting it. The deeper layer is usually the self-concept built out of years of criticism, which is where the real relief tends to come from.

Counselling alongside medical care

Counselling complements medical care, it does not replace it. I do not diagnose ADHD and I do not prescribe. Assessment and medication belong with your GP, a psychiatrist, or a psychologist, and counselling works well alongside them.

Getting started

What to expect

  1. 01

    A free 15 minute consultation

A short call to hear what is going on, answer your questions, and see whether we are a good fit. No pressure either way.

  2. 02

    Your first session

Sixty minutes to lay out the situation in your own words. We get clear on what matters most and what you want to be different.

  3. 03

    Ongoing work at your pace

We settle into a rhythm that suits you, weekly or spaced out, in person on the Sunshine Coast or by secure video anywhere in BC.

If any of this sounds like where you are right now, the next step is a free 15 minute consultation. No pressure, no commitment, just a conversation.
