Stress and Burnout Counselling

Burnout is rarely about weakness. It is usually about a load that never got renegotiated.

Who books this most often

Professionals carrying too much for too long, parents with no margin left, and caregivers looking after someone else's health while quietly neglecting their own.

Signs you might recognize

  • Exhaustion that sleep does not fix
  • Cynicism or detachment about work you used to care about
  • Irritability with the people closest to you
  • Dreading Monday from Saturday onward
  • Physical symptoms: headaches, gut trouble, tension, illness
  • The sense that stopping is not allowed

My approach to this work

We start by mapping the actual load, not the load you think you should be able to handle. From there I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to reconnect you with your values, so decisions about what to keep and what to put down come from what matters to you rather than from guilt. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy gives you tools for the thinking patterns that keep the load in place, especially the belief that resting has to be earned.

What to expect in sessions

Sixty minute sessions. Early work is practical: sleep, boundaries, recovery, and the specific conversations you have been avoiding at work or at home.

Getting started

What to expect

  1. 01

    A free 15 minute consultation

A short call to hear what is going on, answer your questions, and see whether we are a good fit. No pressure either way.

  2. 02

    Your first session

Sixty minutes to lay out the situation in your own words. We get clear on what matters most and what you want to be different.

  3. 03

    Ongoing work at your pace

We settle into a rhythm that suits you, weekly or spaced out, in person on the Sunshine Coast or by secure video anywhere in BC.

If any of this sounds like where you are right now, the next step is a free 15 minute consultation. No pressure, no commitment, just a conversation.
