Men's Mental Health Counselling

Most men I meet have been managing something alone for a very long time before they book.

Who this is for

Men dealing with work and life balance, parenting, relationship breakdown, sexual performance, anger, addiction, parental alienation, separation, and the kind of low mood that gets explained away as stress or tiredness.

Signs you might recognize

  • Anger arriving faster than it used to
  • Drinking, screens, or work being used to take the edge off
  • Nothing to say when someone asks how you are
  • Feeling replaceable at home
  • Shame about needing help at all
  • Thoughts you have never told anyone

My approach to this work

I am a male counsellor with lived experience of my own, and I do not need you to perform vulnerability to be useful. Plenty of men start by talking about logistics, work, or the situation with their kids, and the rest comes later. That is a legitimate way in. I am direct, I will not pathologize you, and I am comfortable with the practical, problem-solving register that many men prefer at the start.

What to expect in sessions

Sixty minute sessions, in person or online. Many men start with four sessions to see whether it is worth continuing, which is a reasonable way to test it.

Getting started

What to expect

  1. 01

    A free 15 minute consultation

A short call to hear what is going on, answer your questions, and see whether we are a good fit. No pressure either way.

  2. 02

    Your first session

Sixty minutes to lay out the situation in your own words. We get clear on what matters most and what you want to be different.

  3. 03

    Ongoing work at your pace

We settle into a rhythm that suits you, weekly or spaced out, in person on the Sunshine Coast or by secure video anywhere in BC.

If any of this sounds like where you are right now, the next step is a free 15 minute consultation. No pressure, no commitment, just a conversation.
